Nickel-Catalyzed Reductive Conjugate Addition of Primary Alkyl Bromides to Enones To Form Silyl Enol Ethers
Conjugate addition of organometallic reagents to enones to form silyl enol ether products is a versatile method to difunctionalize activated olefins, but the organometallic reagents required can be limiting. The reductive cross-electrophile coupling of unhindered primary alkyl bromides with enones and chlorosilanes to form silyl enol ether products is catalyzed by a nickel-complexed ortho-bromi...
متن کاملVisible-Light Photoredox-Catalyzed Giese Reaction: Decarboxylative Addition of Amino Acid Derived α-Amino Radicals to Electron-Deficient Olefins.
A tin- and halide-free, visible-light photoredox-catalyzed Giese reaction was developed. Primary and secondary α-amino radicals were generated readily from amino acids in the presence of catalytic amounts of an iridium photocatalyst. The reactivity of the α-amino radicals has been evaluated for the functionalization of a variety of activated olefins.
متن کاملPalladium-catalyzed Heck-type reaction of secondary trifluoromethylated alkyl bromides
An efficient palladium-catalyzed Heck-type reaction of secondary trifluoromethylated alkyl bromides has been developed. The reaction proceeds under mild reaction conditions with high efficiency and excellent functional group tolerance, even towards formyl and hydroxy groups. Preliminary mechanistic studies reveal that a secondary trifluoromethylated alkyl radical is involved in the reaction.
متن کاملEndo-Selective Pd-Catalyzed Silyl Methyl Heck Reaction
A palladium (Pd)-catalyzed endo-selective Heck reaction of iodomethylsilyl ethers of phenols and aliphatic alkenols has been developed. Mechanistic studies reveal that this silyl methyl Heck reaction operates via a hybrid Pd-radical process and that the silicon atom is crucial for the observed endo selectivity. The obtained allylic silyloxycycles were further oxidized into (Z)-alkenyldiols.
متن کاملPhotoredox mediated nickel catalyzed C(sp3)-H thiocarbonylation of ethers.
The first direct C(sp3)-H thiocarbonylation reaction is achieved by visible light photoredox/Ni dual catalysis. The thioester group of thiobenzoate is transferred to the α-oxy carbon of various cyclic/acyclic ethers, which is the opposite to the commonly expected chemical reactivity involving acyl group transfer via the weaker C(acyl)-S activation. Through mechanistic studies, we proposed that ...
